UAP LAW REVIEW (UAPLR)
VOLUME-II, ISSUE-II

University of Asia Pacific Law Review (UAPLR) [ISSN: 2957-5052(online)] a peer-reviewed academic journal, is inviting exclusive submissions of original articles, book reviews, and case commentaries from undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. students as well as early-career researchers, and academics for its Volume no II, Issue no. II. The deadline for submission of manuscripts for the issue II is February 28, 2025. Author(s) must send their manuscript to uaplawreview@uap-bd.edu

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION


1. Scope and Length of the Manuscript(s):

  • Original Article: The original article must provide novel perspectives or address a novel question relating to legal and legal-interdisciplinary issues. The length of article shall be within 5000-8000 words (including footnotes and references). A 200-word abstract should be added at the beginning of the article.

  • Book Review: The review piece must critically and succinctly review a published law research book that has made or has the potential to make a significant scholarly contribution to its respective field(s). The book review shall not exceed 2000 words (including footnotes and references).

  • Case Commentary: The commentary must critically and succinctly explore different facets of a recent Bangladeshi or foreign or international courts’ judgment of significant jurisprudential or socio-legal and politico-legal value(s). The commentary shall not exceed 1000 words (including footnotes and references).


    2. Formatting Style: The manuscript must be formatted in following style:

  • Manuscripts should be written in MS word format. It must be 1.5 spaced with Times New Roman, 12-point type, and 1-inch margins. You may use properly formatted tables, charts, and figures in the manuscript of original articles. However, no image(s) shall be used inside the manuscript.
  • The journal only accepts the footnotes. The footnote must be single spaced with Times New Roman, and a 10-point type. Endnotes are not accepted. Bibliography or references are not necessary.
  • Footnotes should conform to the Oxford Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA) citation style. https://www.law.ox.ac.uk/sites/files/oxlaw/oscola_4th_edn_hart_2012.pdf.

  • 3. Blind Peer Review and Anonymity: All manuscripts will go through a double-blind peer- review process. In order to ensure author’s anonymity, the names of the author(s), designation, intuitional or professional affiliation must not be mentioned anywhere in the text of the manuscript. The author(s) information must be written on a separate page and be attached separately with the manuscript.

    4. Co-author policy: . co-authorship is allowed subject to a maximum of two

    5. Exclusive Submission: All manuscripts must be submitted exclusively to UAPLR. Author(s) found that submitting the manuscripts in several journals at a time will be black-listed.

    6. Submission email address: Author(s) must send their manuscript directly to the Editor-in- chief at uaplawreview@uap-bd.edu

    7. Disclaimer: The articles, book reviews, and case commentaries published in UAPLR do not represent the views of the editorial board. The Editor is responsible for the final selection of content and reserves the right not to publish work deemed inappropriate for publication. Responsibility for the views expressed in published work lies solely with the individual authors.


    PUBLICATION ETHICS AND MALPRACTICE STATEMENT

    This statement regulates ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article, a book reviews, and a case commentary in it and is based on the COPE’s Codes of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines (http://publicationethics.org/).


    DUTIES OF AUTHOR:

    1. Originality and Plagiarism: Authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others this must be appropriately cited or quoted. Such quotations and citations must be listed in the Reference at the end of the article.

    2. Multiple Publications: An author should not in general publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable

    3. Acknowledgement of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work

    4. Authorship of the Paper: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study, and should be listed as co-authors. Others, who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, should be acknowledged or listed as contributors.

    5. Corresponding Author: Corresponding author is the author responsible for communicating with the journal for publication. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper. All co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.

    6. Acknowledgment of Funding Sources: Sources of funding for the research reported in the article should be duly acknowledged at the end of the article.

    7. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.

    8. Fundamental Errors in Published Works: When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editors or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
